GLE Gives Back

A snapshot of GLE's 2009 Philanthropic Efforts

It is better to give than to receive… is one of the many reasons GLE began a Philanthropy committee in 2008. The focus of this group is to give back to the community, as well as promote goodwill and teamwork among our employees. Over the past year, GLE has launched various charitable programs, here is a snapshot of all that we’ve done in 2009!

Paint Your Heart out Tampa: This past April, GLE participated in Paint Your Heart Out Tampa (PYHOT). PYHOT is a community service organization that beautifies the homes of low-income, elderly citizens in the Tampa Bay area, by re-painting them and doing some minor landscaping. The whole experience was very rewarding and a great opportunity for bonding.

Cleaning Out Your Closets: GLE asked its employees to ‘clean out their closets’ this past summer for donations to “The Spring,” a domestic violence shelter in Tampa. In return, GLE matched clothing contributions for a monetary donation to the James A. Haley Veterans’ Hospital’s Fisher House, “a home away from home,” for families or patients receiving medical care at the VA medical Center. GLE collected and matched a $1000 donation to support these two charities.

Bowling for Turkeys: This past November GLE, family and friends gathered at Pin Chasers in Tampa for 'Bowling for Turkeys.' The event benefited Metropolitan Ministries, a local charity committed to preventing homelessness, easing hunger, offering life-changing answers leading to self-sufficiency and supporting the transition of the homeless back into our community. GLE raised $250 as a part of this effort. 

GLE’s Atlanta’s office donated approximately 50lbs of food and a monetary donation to the Atlanta Community Food Bank as a part of their Thanksgiving Philanthropy program.

Toys for Tots: GLE participated in Toys for Tots this Christmas donating over $200 worth of Toys to the Tampa Community.
