Confidential Client – Major Insurance Company
Illinois & Wisconsin
GLE has been conducting mold contamination investigations for this client since April 2001 in response to claims filed with the insurance company in numerous residences throughout Illinois and Wisconsin. The scope of the investigation includes a thorough inspection of the residence followed by the collection of samples for both viable and non-viable airborne mold spore, swab samples and cellotape samples. When authorized by the insurance company, GLE has overseen the remediation of mold contamination, including the collection of air samples during and following the remediation.
Various Insurance Companies
Greater Southern California
GLE’s mold experts have responded to more than 300 residential mold claims in the greater Southern California area for various insurance companies and property claims adjusters. Specifically, after claims were initiated by the insured, GLE was contacted by a claims adjuster to perform initial mold inspections and preliminary testing within the insureds’ homes. Utilizing this data, GLE developed mold remediation plans to assist the claims adjusters with the final scope of work needed to develop remediation and restoration plans.
Understanding the urgency that accompanies water-related claims, GLE developed a process that expedites assessment, laboratory testing and workplan development. GLE’s experience generally resulted in the accomplishment of the above tasks in five days or less. This process stabilized costs and minimized impact on the potential displacement of the insured from their residence.
Upon completion of the mold abatement by third-party remediation contractors, GLE performed final inspections and conducted post-remediation testing, allowing timely completion of the restoration process and in many cases, a reduction in owner relocation time and expense.
State Farm Insurance
Titusville, Florida
GLE performed a site investigation of a house with mold contamination. The contamination originated from a water leak that had been found and corrected five months prior to GLE being notified. We collected and analyzed several bulk samples to determine the extent of the contamination and the types of molds present, then prepared a report and provided recommendations to one of State Farm’s claims adjusters. Afterward, GLE worked with the mold abatement company on the remediation of the contamination.
