Environmental Term Contract 

GLE serves as the term environmental consultant for the School Board of Broward County, Florida.  Included in the scope of this contract are asbestos, lead, mold and related IAQ consulting services and remedial actions. Under this contract, GLE has completed 1,240 projects, including asbestos inspection for AHERA compliance, asbestos abatement, lead paint inspection, contamination assessments remedial design, remedial actions and emergency response.  The AHERA compliant re-inspections are performed with GLE’s EPA-certified and trained staff and includes the research and assembly of data accumulated from previous facility surveys and abatement projects performed.  Additional confirmatory sampling is performed as necessary with the analytical results being incorporated into both the report and site plans prepared for the facility. GLE also performed IAQ and mold evaluations of over 30 school campuses. After each project was completed, GLE’s architectural division designed remedial and replacement activities which were performed under the supervision of GLE.

Building Assessment: Architecture and Roof Consulting Term Contract

GLE was initially selected in 1998 to serve as an open-ended consultant for the School Board of Broward County (SBBC). Since that time, GLE has completed more than 50 projects, including:

Roof Assessments for 20 campuses and roof replacement projects totaling more than 540,000 square feet - Roof Replacement included design through construction administration services. Additionally, GLE has performed roof assessments at schools where deficiencies were identified and repairs prioritized, but where complete replacements were not necessary: 

Architectural Term Contract 

GLE was initially selected in 1998 to serve as an open-ended architect for the School Board of Broward County (SBBC). Since that time, GLE has completed numerous projects, including renovations to the Northside Elementary School, a media center, major renovations (up to $2.5 million) and master specifications for use district-wide. Specific projects completed for SBBC include: 

• Media Center renovations at Northside Elementary School

• Modular building installations (over 30 total) to four campuses to achieve state-mandated classroom size reductions

• 2001 Building Code compliance inspection services at seven campuses

• HVAC renovations at Stoneman Douglas and Coral Springs High Schools

• District-wide exterior waterproofing and Stucco Repairs Master Specification

• Renovations to Seminole Middle School

• IAQ improvement projects at more than 15 SBBC Campuses

• Sheridan Technical School and the Quest Center Exceptional School Re-roofing projects

• Scope of work development at Plantation Park Elementary School
