Asbestos & Lead Term Contract

GLE has served as one of Pinellas County School’s asbestos and lead consultants since 1995. In this capacity, GLE performs surveys, design, abatement plans, performs construction administration and provides air monitoring services for various school facilities throughout the District.  We have performed over 250 projects for the School Board, including 2005 and 2006 AHERA surveys.

GLE has performed lead-based paint (LBP) surveys of school facilities prior to repainting. We have utilized XRF technology and obtained samples for analysis using Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry. GLE has developed design documents and performed contract administration and sampling during the abatement of Lead Based Paint.

Asbestos abatement plans are developed based on site-specific information obtained by the project manager, and AutoCAD drawings are developed with all of the project-specific information delineated. Prior to the abatement activities, GLE’s asbestos project manager reviews all of the contractor’s submittals, including product information, worker certification and state-required notification. Throughout the abatement process, GLE’s air monitors collect work in progress and perimeter and clearance air samples.  Also, engineering controls are carefully monitored and managed.
