Petroleum Hydrocarbon Remediation Project

GLE served as the primary environmental program manager for a large petroleum hydrocarbon remediation project conducted at a major shopping mall property located in Augusta, Georgia. The subject site was planned for a multi-million dollar redevelopment project which included the decommissioning and demolition of existing structures and sub-surface utilities, as well as performing extensive soil and groundwater remediation to facilitate the construction of a new lifestyle center at the subject mall.

To expedite and facilitate the proposed construction activities and minimize adverse impacts associated with the discovered site contamination, a phased remedial plan was designed and executed to address existing petroleum hydrocarbon contamination at the site while simultaneously creating minimal disruption to the planned site development work. GLE provided daily on-site remediation project management and monitoring services during the construction project to ensure the health and safety of the site workers.

In addition to petroleum hydrocarbons, GLE also provided hazardous materials characterization and abatement management services associated with the decommissioning and demolition of an approximate 150,000-square foot building located on the property.
