Sarasota Housing Authority: GLE completed comprehensive modernization renovations for the McCown Towers Annex Building, a five-story, 75-unit residential facility. Prior to the commencement of design, GLE completed a comprehensive a physical needs assessment of the facility that detailed required immediate needs and long term improvements. Specific upgrades included HVAC system replacements, life safety features, ADA upgrades, interior casework and finish material replacement, fire protection system improvements, domestic plumbing system upgrades and hazardous material remediation as required to complete the construction activities.
In 2011, GLE was reselected as the Architectural and Engineering consultant for the Housing Authority of Sarasota under a term contract. As a part of this contract GLE is currently completing two large projects including the Martin Luther King Mediterranean Townhome project and the Tuttle Apartments.

Winter Haven Housing Authority: GLE was selected by WHHA to complete their Lake Deer Community Center Rehabilitation (Building Renovation). The renovation involved creating a reception area to control entry into the facility, open office spaces and executive office suites. The other existing spaces, such as the community center, storage rooms, kitchen and restrooms, were upgraded to meet accessibility requirements, as well as the community’s assembly needs. GLE also added sustainable features, including the installation of new lighting fixtures with occupancy control.

Hernando County Housing Authority: GLE was recently selected to provide Construction Management services for HHA’s Magnolia Gardens elderly apartment community. The project will include construction of 60 elderly dwelling units and community spaces in a 3-story building. GLE’s services will include the review of construction documents for constructability and cost savings, cost estimation, bid oversight, and construction phase inspections.

Crestview Housing Authority: GLE was selected to provide AE and environmental consulting services to CHA. Via this term contract, GLE’s initial task was to perform a Section 504/ADA survey of CHA’s four properties and perform lead based paint surveys. Based on the findings of these surveys, GLE provided the AE services necessary to bring CHA’s four communities into 504/ADA compliance. This project requires the conversion of 19-units to 504 compliant units. GLE also provided services for the modernization of the Virginia Court Apartments, as well as exterior repainting to the Neal Cobb Villa and Ed Hill Manor Apartment Communities.
