Continuing Services Term Contract for Minor Architecture/Engineering Projects
Under a Continuing Services Term Contract for Minor Architecture/Engineering Projects GLE completed visual assessments and performed ambient air performance testing of two building halls in an attempt to determine the source(s) of water damage and elevated relative humidity within the buildings, which was creating an environment favorable for the proliferation of mold.
In addition to the MEP Assessment, GLE was requested to complete an evaluation of the two hall’s building envelopes to determine if current building envelope conditions may be contributing to the indoor air quality concerns. GLE determined, based on observations within the cavities of two exterior walls, conditions exist at one hall which were permitting moisture intrusion. In addition to the water intrusion, GLE also observed mold growth on the back face of the drywall within one of the cavities.
Once all exterior wall assessment activities were completed GLE prepared a final report, which detailed the assessment of both the building envelope and the MEP systems. GLE suggested upon two solutions that appeared to be the most viable options to eliminate the moisture intrusion.
