This prototypical design for Polk County Schools was developed for severely emotionally disturbed children in grades K-12. The school plan was organized, as simply as possible, in an effort to avoid both confusion and many stimuli which cause distraction (e.g., lightning/thunderstorm, outdoor distractions, the strobing of fluorescent lights, aggressive colors, and the hyperactivity of other students).
